Nikon’s New Mirrorless Camera Capable to Record 4K Video


Nikon has announced a new addition to the Nikon 1 System of compact interchangeable lens cameras, Nikon 1 J5 mirrorless camera. J5 is said to offer a combination of image quality and portability, speed and versatility, creativity and connectivity. It packs advanced performance into an intuitive design and compact body, small enough to take on every outing.

J5 features EXPEED 5A image processing engine for fast continuous full-resolution shooting frame rate at 20 fps with full Autofocus (AF) and up to 60 fps with AF fixed on the first frame. It has fast hybrid AF system featuring 171 Contrast-Detect and 105 Phase Detect AF points. Its 1” CX-format 20.8-MP BSI CMOS sensor allows a wide ISO range from 160-12,800.

J5 also boasts a high-resolution 3” (1,037k-dot) touch LCD display with a 180-degree tilt screen, high-quality 1080/60p HD video at up to 120 fps (at 720p) and 4K video at 15p, Creative Modes and Scene Modes for stills and video, and instant sharing with built-in Wi-Fi and NFC.

Nikon 1 J5 will be available in the late of April in several kit options: with the 1 Nikkor 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-Zoom for US$ 499.95, with 10-30mm and 1 Nikkor VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6 for US$ 749.95, and with 1 Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6 for US$ 1049.95.
