Canon PowerShot N: Instagram in a form of Camera

Canon has just announced PowerShot N which is called as “a totally new type” of point-and-shoot camera. With its unique square design, the camera offers portability, simple operation and connectivity.

Measuring just 7.86 x 6.02 x 2.93 cm when the screen and lens are closed, the PowerShot N is of course so compact that it can slip into your pocket, and it is easy for you to carry it anywhere. USB charging also provides added convenience, allowing the camera to be charged quickly and easily on the move.

So simple that N only has three buttons which are for power, image playback and connecting to Wi-Fi. Where is the shutter release button? It is integrated into the lens ring, and so is the zoom function button.

Its 2.8” touchscreen makes you easy to control such essential functions as focus or shutter with a simple touch. This tilting screen also lets you shoot from many angles, even an extreme angle. Available in black and white, the square metal body is dominated by a 28mm, 8x optical zoom lens.

When you shoot in Creative Shot mode, the PowerShot N does intelligently all works from determining exposure, zooming to applying filters. Like in Instagram, you can choose to modify your shooting results. Instead of photos, you can also make full-HD video with the camera. With Mobile Device Connect Button, you can upload your images or videos to social networks just moments after they are captured.

Equipped with 12.1-MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 5 image processor, and also supporting a maximum ISO of 6400, the PowerShot N will be available in April for US$ 300.
