Leica Camera AG is showing its special edition camera product at its Photokina booth: Leica X2 Edition Paul Smith. This special edition is said to be a camera model combining high performance digital technology, crafted in Germany, with extravagant styling from the world of fashion.

Paul Smith, the international fashion designer and entrepreneur, is the creative mind behind its flamboyant looks. Smith is regarded as one of the UK’s most successful designers and is famous for the use of bright and vibrant colours in his collections.

Strictly limited to 1,500 units worldwide, its striking feature is the unusual combination of colors chosen by Paul Smith for the X2’s body.  “In addition to its own unique serial number, each camera bears one of a series of consecutive limited edition numbers,” said the company in its press release.

According to Kristupa Saragih’s report from the Photokina venue, the Leica X2 Edition Paul Smith is being showcased at Leica’s booth. Priced at circa 2,400 Euros, this special edition will be available in October. The technical specifications of this special edition replicate those of the standard X2 model.
