Following Makassar, Semarang became the next city to host the 2012 Canon-Fotografer.net (FN) Seminar Series. Taking place at Puri Suites, Ciputra Hotel Semarang, the seminar was successfully held last Saturday (6/30).

Started at about 9 am, the seminar was opened by speeches from RB Isworo—Executive Manager at Fotografer.net—and Kristupa Saragih—co-founder of FN. As for the main agenda, the seminar themed “Maximizing Your Camera in Capturing People: Portrait, Photojournalism, General” presented Arbain Rambey—senior photographer at Kompas Daily—as the main speaker.

Before entering the main session, the attendees, which reached about 100 participants from Semarang, Salatiga, Temanggung, and other surrounding cities were introduced to Canon’s newest innovation—the Canon EOS 650D. Mr Yase of Canon Indonesia (PT Datascrip) delivered a brief introduction and explanation on the new camera, which comes as the frst DSLR camera to feature touchscreen display.

The main material was then presented by Arbain Rambey; he explained and discussed all things related to capturing people. The explanation was interesting and clear as he was renowned for his experience as a photojournalist for years.

The whole agenda was completed at about 4 pm. After Semarang, the next event within the string of Canon-FN Series will be a workshop in Banjarmasin—scheduled to hold next week (July 8).
