Samyang Announces New Fisheye Lens for Sony NEX & Samsung NX

Today Samyang has announced its lates lens product—the 8mm f/2.8 ED IF UMC Fisheye lens, which is dedicated for Sony NEX and Samsung NX cameras. The lens is currently the smallest and brightest fisheye lens, which combines superior optics quality and a fast aperture.

The lens is designed with lightweight, compact size to match Sony NEX and Samsung NX’s compact body. Meanwhile, the optical construction promises high quality through its sophisticated system—10 lenses arranged in 8 groups, enriched by multi-layered UMC anti-reflective coating. The lens, in short, ensures sharp, crisp images with enhanced light and maximum contrast.

The new Samyang fisheye lens is a manual lens; either mounted on Sony NEX or Samsung NX, it will provide a maximum angle of view to 180 degrees with a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 meter.
