Leica’s New Lens Redefines High-Performance & Quality
Along with the release of its three new cameras, Leica has also introduced the latest lens—the Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH. Designed to be a true partner to Leica’s high-resolution camera systems, the lens is capable of breaking the technical boundaries, promising an exceptional high-performance and image quality.
The lens’ performance is considered the most perfect among any other Leica M standard lenses. The Leica APO-SUmmicron 50mm f/2 ASPH adopts MTF curve to guarantee fine details, outstanding sharpness and extreme clarity from corner to corner. Also, the lens features the apochromatic correction which minimizes chromatic aberration on sharp edges; resulting in natural rendition of every detail in the captured images.
Furthermore, The lens group behind the diaphragm is designed as a floating element that changes its position relative to the front group during focusing, which results in outstanding imaging quality throughout its focusing range, including at closer focusing distances.
The Leica APO-Summicron 50mm f/2 ASPH is built upon a perfect combination of design and construction with all the best parameters and measurements, such as in its optical calculation, material choice, to the manufacturing and finishing process. Shortly saying, the lens redefines the high-performance and quality Leica has continuously offered along its business track.
The lens is scheduled to release later in July. Detailed specification and other information can be read here.
