Canon DPP with EOS 5D Mark III RAW Processing Fix Now Available

Canon has released Digital Photo Professional (DPP) version 3.11.26 and it is now available for download. This update should correct the soft conversion problem with Canon EOS 5D Mark III RAW images, and hopefully corrects the same problem with Canon PowerShot G1 X RAW images.

It has been confirmed that the RAW development process used by DPP version 3.11.10 is not appropriate, generating somewhat blurred images. This is the version of DPP that is included on the CD in Canon EOS 5D Mark III box.

The latest version now supports such new lenses as EF24mm F2.8 IS USM, EF28mm F2.8 IS USM, EF24-70mm F2.8L II USM, EF500mm F4L IS II USM, and EF600mm F4L IS II USM. Beside EOS 5D Mark III, it also supports images taken with EOS 1Dx.

The updaters for each platform can be downloaded from Canon Japan: DPP 3.11.26 for Mac & DPP 3.11.26 for Windows. Robgalbraith.com suggests to click the red/white arrow icon on the right side of the non-translated page to initiate the download. The Mac download is an international updater, but the Windows version may be for Japanese computer systems only.
