Fotografer.net’s New Layout, New Features Now Accessible

FN's Home page in new look

Starting from today (Sunday, 02/12), the new design and layout of Fotografer.net (FN)—the biggest online photography community in Southeast Asia—has been launched and is already accessible. Users, in this case the members of FN, can now enjoy the new appearance and make use of a set of new features offered.

Smartsimpleeasyuser-oriented,” said Kristupa Saragih, founder of FN, giving a brief description of the new FN’s website. The newness, introduced as FN2012, includes not only new fresh, attractive display but also a set of new features called “FN Understands”, which are created to provide users with a simpler, smarter, easier access to the website.

One of the new features: Fotografer.net's watermark for copyright protection

The “FN Understands” feature, which highlights a total of 32 new features spread on FN’s pages—from home page, gallery, forum, to intermember interaction and social media connection—is presented in order to make users feel more comfortable in accessing the website as the feature “understands” the unique characters of the users.

“We (FN) understand that every person is unique. Therefore, we are presenting the features that help the members access FN’s website in accordance to how they want to use it,” Kristupa explained further. The “FN Understands” feature can be found when, in example, a user is accessing the gallery page. If he/she mostly opens landscape photos or other particular categories on the gallery page, the next time he/she access it, the gallery will automatically display photos from the categories most frequently opened.

The new design and features presented come as a development program based on FN’s 9-year experience in interacting with the members, both online and offline. Previously, FN2012 has been tested and was scheduled to launch on February 2, but due to excessive access, the launching had to be delayed for a week. “The excessive access was not supported by reliable back-end and system,” explained R. Budhi Isworo, Co-Administrator of Fotografer.net.

The new look of FN's Forum page

Wiwin Yulius, one of the moderators of FN’s website, suggested, “It’s better for users to explore and learn about the new layout and features.” He also added, “Some users may be rather confused in the beginning, but certainly they will get used to them as time goes by.”

The newness, however, does not imply that FN has reached final in the progress. In contrast, the new FN is just a stepping stone to the next developments to come in the future. “We believe in never-ending development,” Kristupa stated optimistically.
