Nikon 1 F-mount Adapter Now Available
Photographers used to shoot using their Nikon DSLR gears can now make use of their existing F-mount lenses with the recently-released Nikon 1 cameras. The FT1 adapter is now available, making most F-mount lenses compatible with the mirrorless camera system.
While most F-mount lenses can now be used with the Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras, the AF-S lens series will also give more advantages to Nikonians as they are able of utilizing the camera’s AF system.
It is worth noted that the Nikon 1 camera’s tiny sensor will result in the lenses having a 2.7x crop factor; for example, a 50mm F-mount lens will turn into a 135 telephoto lens when mounted on the mirrorless camera.
Starting from today, the FT1 is available first in Japan for about US$300.
