Sigma Announces 17-50mm F2.8 Lens for Sony and Pentax
The renowned lens manufacturer Sigma Corporation has announced its new lens dedicated for Sony and Pentax cameras—the 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC HSM.
The large aperture of F2.8 covers the entire zoom range, making the lens an ideal gear for many genres of photography—from portraiture to landscape. Besides the two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements which compensate for color aberration, the lens also features two glass mold and one hybrid aspheric lens providing brilliant correction for field curvature and astigmatism.
Even at maximum aperture, the Sigma F2.8 guarantees premium peripheral brightness and excellently sharp, high contrast images. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) system also ensures fast yet quiet AF.
More details on the specifications of the lens can be viewed here. With the launch of this new lens, it means that the previous series—the 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM—will be soon discontinued.
