Google to Develop Photovine for Mobile Photo Sharing

Mobile sharing has now become one of the biggest demand as well as opportunity in the photo sharing market. Competing with the growing new companies, Google is reported to join in the business as the company has just filed a trademark for an application named Photovine earlier this month—which might be an expansion to the existing Picasa.

It is reported that Photovine is an application designed for “Communication services, namely, transmission of visual images and data by telecommunications networks, wireless communication networks, the Internet, information services networks and data networks”. In addition, Google also seems to have constructed the Photovine.com website.

As Google is also playing a major part in the smartphone market with the now-popular Android gadgets, it seems possible that the Photovine application would be operated to provide mobile photo sharing service from Android devices, just like Apple had done with its Photo Stream service. petapixel.com
