Kelas Pagi Jakarta (KPJ) is going to hold a photography exhibition entitled “Lain Doeloe Lain Sekarang” (“Past was, Present is”) from June 1 to 5. KPJ is a free photography class initiated by an Indonesian professional photographer, Anton Ismael.
Taking place at Kalibata City, South Jakarta, the exhibition will showcase 50 images created by 50 photographers participated in the 4th Class of KPJ. The photos are all in commercial genre.
To Victor Nicholas Sitorus, a participant in the exhibition, the showcased photos are trying to trace Indonesian advertisements in the past until 1990s. “They (the advertisements) are recreated in accordance with each photographer’s perception,” he said.
Besides, workshop and photo contest are going to be held as well starting on June 2. Open for public, this 4-day workshop is not free of charge and presenting seven workshop sessions with seven different themes. For more detail information, please contact Rina on phone number: (+62-21) 91066210.
The workshop participants can then take part in the photo competition running in the end of every workshop. Some prizes are provided for winners, such as a DSLR camera, a compact camera and two photo printers.
