One-year Photo Contest on “Population” by Fotokita & NGI

Fotokita Award 2011 is an online photo contest by Fotokita.net and the National Geographic Indonesia (NGI). By this month, you will be given a one-year chance –to December 2011– to submit photos; upload is via Fotokita.

What kind of photos, and who can take the chance? If you are an Indonesian and registered as the member of Fotokita, you can participate in this contest by submitting five to seven photos to the contest’s Photo Story category, or one photo only to its Single Photo category. All photos must be carrying the NGI’s 2011 theme: “Population.” The contest notes, “Read the NGI’s articles on population, get into the pictures, grab some inspirations, take your own pictures with your own camera!”

The contest is divided into four periods: January to March, March to June, June to September, September to December. At the end of every period, 5 Photo Story and 10 Single Photo nominees will be chosen. At the final round (in December), there will be 20 Photo Story’s and 40 Single Photo’s nominees. The final round will then pick only the best 3 photos of each category. The judges? Yunas Santhani Azis and Reynold Sumayku of the NGI, Yudhi Soerjoatmojo of The British Council, Oscar Motulloh of the Antara and Ray Bachtiar of the KLJ Indonesia.

Every winner of the Photo Story category will be rewarded a prize of Rp 40,000,000 (1st winner), Rp 25,000,000 (2nd winner) and Rp 10,000,000 (3rd winner), while the ones of the Single Photo will be of Rp 7,000,000, Rp 5,000,000 and Rp 3,000,000.
